Thanks for joining us for another episode of Wine Crush podcast! In this episode we brought the passionate, and humble gentlemen behind Antiquum Farm & Winery. We wanted to highlight this company because of their highly unique story. What they’re doing is one big holistic circle of life, from their live stock, to their organic fertilizers, the wines, and hospitality & charcuterie program.
Their vineyards of 14.5-acres is one of the most unique sites for the variety in all of Oregon. At 800 feet above sea level, and exhibits an intensity of fruit not usually associated with the iconic grape of Oregon: Pinot Noir.
Their Pinot noir is a pure blue tone more akin to Syrah or Nebbiolo, the grape skins are thicker much like Cabernet Sauvignon than Pinot noir, aiding in resistance to pests and mildew pressure.
At the studio we had the pleasure of tasting their entire lineup AND got to debut their new labels!
The wines are of course amazing, but one of the winning wines at the table was their incredible deep hued and fuller bodied Pinot Gris. We couldn’t believe we were drinking Pinot Gris at all! It was definitely one of the most loved bottles we had on the table. It’s definitely a must-try!
We believe in a deeper, more wholistic conception of place. Individual expression is articulated by the unique signature of an infinitely complex web of life beneath the surface working in harmony with the creatures on the ground and in the air. Where these elements are considered in total, therein lies the soul of the vineyard. Over the years, we have only sought to allow our vineyard the space and ability to become what it wishes to be, and even now we are still watching the process unfold.”
